Dear teachers,

Could you give me feedback on these sentences?

"As EFL education in Asia has been witnessing significant changes in recent years, there is a real need for EFL educators to be updated with teaching approaches and methodologies that afford them the opportunity to develop learners who not only learn the language but also know how to learn it. It is in this capacity that SRE offers EFL teachers and specialists practical suggestions on building learners as critical thinkers."

The last sentence: I'm not quite sure about the use of "it is in this capacity" here but for some reason I'd like to use it. What I mean is: "In building learners who not only learn the langage but also know how to learn it, SRE offers...."

Thank you!

Prior to this quote there apparently was a discussion of "SRE."

As far as the part of the sentence that reads:

"educators to be updated with teaching approaches and methodologies that afford them the opportunity to develop learners who not only learn the language but also know how to learn it."

This part indicates an "approach/methodology" that is made simpler (easier or facilitated) by SRE.

I think that the purpose of the words "in this capacity" serves to tie "SRE" and "teaching approaches and methodologies" together in the reader's mind.
