The captioned English was written by a Japanese. He wanted to say that one is safe if he avoids the sunshine. Does the sentence make sense? _________________ Hiromichi |

The sentence makes sense as a statement of fact, but is somewhat redundant and probably not the way a native speaker would state it. Typically "shade" and "shadow" are not used together.
Examples:
Stay in the shade to avoid getting sunburn.
I will sit in the shade.
He sat in the shadow of the building to avoid the heat of the sun. _________________ Educe22 |
