The more brave of heart may try the canoe races. Five or six men paddle each canoe across the partly-frozen St. Lawrence River.

I know its meaning. But I cannot figure out the pattern like "the more brave of heart? Can I just say "the more brave heart"?

Can you give me a few more examples using "the more adjective of noun"?

Thanks

Another option might be "the more brave hearted".

Personally, I would regard both as idioms and not seek further examples because of that.

Yah, it's an old style phrase used in special situations. I can think of "stout of heart" (same meaning as brave) and "fleet of foot" (can run fast) but not too many more, and just used to describe the characteristics of someone.
