She was right to be alarmed. By the time Frank reached Lisa,he could feel the tracks shaking and see the light coming. The train was about 20 seconds from the station.
It was hard to lift her. She was just out. But he managed to raise her the four feet to the platform so that bystanders could hold her by the grins and drag her away from the edge. That was where Lisa briefly regained consciousness, felt herself being pulled along the ground, and saw someone else holding her purse.

what is "the four feet to the platform" ?

Thanks

It sounds like a subway train. Usually, people stand on a platform, and the train runs on a track that is several feet below where the platform is. I would guess Lisa got knocked off the platform onto the tracks. Frank jumped down and could feel the tracks shaking. He had 20 seconds to lift her up the four feet to the platform so that people could pull her back to the safe area.

Just to be clear, in this sentence the word 'feet' refers to the length measurement.........and has nothing to do with anyone's feet.
