Dear teachers,
Could you please tell me which to choose in the following exercise,and why?

His brother run away fromtheir home ten years ago, never to be ____.
A. heard of B. heard from

The stem of the sentence should be corrected from:
"His brother run away fromtheir home ten years ago, never to be ( )."

"His brother ran away from their home ten years ago, never to be ( )."

"Heard from" is probably the more reasonable choice since it reflects the brother's lack of desire to contact his family.

"Heard of" implies that something unforeseen happened and he disappeared. In other words, he had an accidental death and was unable to contact his familty, even though he may have wanted to.
