Hi,
What does 'they were on the come' mean? Does it mean they were coming ; they were on their way here? I've looked up the dictionary of the word 'come' but the definition of 'come' as a noun (semen) is grotesquely unfit in the context. Please help me out. If my surmise is correct, I'd like to know if this kind of usage common in English language.
Thank you very much.
[quote]They were being really crazy
They were on the come. And you know what mammy?
Everybody was being really crazy.
Uh huh.
The monsters are crazy.
There are monsters outsides.

I've never heard it used before, but it may just mean, "They were coming".
Songwriters and poets often change the language around to make the rhyme and meter fit. |

Thank you, pugachevV. After listening to it a few times, it seems the background voice sings "They were all to come" or "they were out to come", Do these two make sense to you?
Thanks! |
