Hi everyone , ,

I have to write a research about Eating disorder
Know could some body please have a look to writing and check the mistake . . .

It's not finish yet , bt I wona to make sure wt is wrote is right

Eating disorder

In this research I chose to write about eating disorder. First I am going to write the definition of eating disorder, and then I write three common type of eating disorder and followed by explanation and signs and symptoms and the physical/medical Complications for people who had people in eating. Moreover, I write about causes and effects of eating disorder for child learning, pregnancy women, and male.

Definition of eating disorder:

Eating disorder is when a person eats, or refuses to eat, in order to satisfy a psychic needed and not a physical needed. The person doesn't listen to bodily signals or perhaps is not even aware of them. A normal person eats when hungry and stops eating when the body doesn't need more, when he feels the signal of satisfaction.
http://web4health.info/gr/ed-dia-ed-def.htm
Types of eating disorder:
There are three common types of eating disorder, which are bulimia nervosa, anorexia nervosa, binge eating.
BulimiaNervosa At first you eat quickly and excessively. This is followed by vomiting, fasting, exercise, laxatives or medicine in order to avoid an increase in weight.
People with bulimia eat a large amount of food (often junk food) at once, usually in secret. Sometimes they eat food that is not cooked or might be still frozen, or retrieve food from the trash. They typically feel powerless to stop the eating and can only stop once they're too full to eat any more. Most people with bulimia then purge by vomiting, but may also use laxatives or excessive exercise.
Signs and Symptoms
 Binge eating
 Bathroom visits after eating
 Vomiting
 Broken blood vessels
 Harsh exercise regimes
 Fasting
Fear of not being able to stop eating voluntarily
 Self-deprecating thoughts following eating
 Muscle weakness
 Tooth decay
 Irregular heartbeats
Evidence of binge eating, including disappearance of large amounts of food in short periods of time or lots of empty wrappers and containers indicating consumption of large amounts of food.
Evidence of purging behaviors, including frequent trips to the bathroom after meals, signs and/ or smells of vomiting, presence of wrappers or packages of laxatives or diuretics. (1)

Physical/Medical Complications
 Dizziness
 Headaches
 Shortness of breath
 Irregular heartbeats
 Depression
 Tears of esophagus
 Hair loss
 Stomach pain and bloating
 Erosion of teeth enamel
 Low blood pressure
 Chest pains
 Anemias

AnorexiaNervosa You don't eat enough to maintain your normal weight. You are very afraid of becoming fat and have false ideas about your weight and figure.
People with anorexia have a real fear of weight gain and a distorted view of their body size and shape. As a result, they can't maintain a normal body weight. Many teens with anorexia restrict their food intake by dieting, fasting, or excessive exercise. They hardly eat at all and the small amount of food they do eat becomes an obsession.
Signs and Symptoms
 Noticeable weight loss
 Always being cold
 Muscle weakness
 Obsession with food, calories, recipes
 Noticeable discomfort around food
Cooking for others, but not eating themselves
 Guilt or shame about eating
 Difficulty eating in public
 Headaches

Has disturbed experience of body weight or shape, undue influence of weight or shape on self-evaluation, or denial of the seriousness of low body weight. (1)

Physical/Medical Complications
 Fatigue and lack of energy
 Skin problems
 Dizziness and headaches
 Shortness of breath
 Cold hands and feet
 Hair loss
 Stomach pains

Binge Eating Binge eating disorder is characterized by consuming large quantities of food in a very short period of time until the individual is uncomfortably full. Binge eating disorder is much like bulimia except the individuals do not use any form of purging (i.e. vomiting, laxatives, fasting, etc.) following a binge. Individuals usually feel out of control during a binge episode, followed by feelings of guilt and shame. Many individuals who suffer with binge eating disorder use food as a way to cope with or block out feelings and emotions they do not want to feel. Individuals can also use food as a way to numb themselves, to cope with daily life stressors, to provide comfort to themselves or fill a void they feel within. Like all eating disorders, binge eating is a serious problem but can be overcome through proper treatment. (2)

Signs and Symptoms
 weight gain
feeling out of control over eating
 low self-esteem
 depression
 feelings of guilt and shame
Evidence of binge eating, including disappearance of large amounts of food in short periods of time or lots of empty wrappers and containers indicating consumption of large amounts of food .
Develops food rituals (e.g., eats only a particular food or food group [e.g., condiments], excessive chewing, doesnt allow foods to touch)
http://www.nationaleatingdisorders.org/uploads/file/toolkits/NEDA-TKP-A03-SignsSymptomsBehaviors.pdf
Physical/Medical Complications
 obesity
 diabetes
 high blood pressure
 high cholestrol
 shortness of breath
 heart disease

Causes of eating disorder for child learning:-

Eating disorders can profoundly affect a childs ability to learn. Understanding some of the ways an eating disorder can affect cognitive function may help educators to recognize that a student may be in trouble.
- Can have detrimental effects on cognitive development in children.
- Has a negative impact on student behavior and school performance.
- Makes students feel irritable, decreases ability to concentrate and focus, decreases ability to listen and process information, may cause nausea, headache, and makes students feel fatigued and have lack of energy.
- Makes students with disordered eating behaviors less able to perform tasks.
- Leads to deficiencies in specific nutrients, such as iron, which has an immediate effect on students memory and ability to concentrate;
- Can make students become less active and more apathetic, withdrawn, and engage in fewer social interactions. (1)

Causes of eating disorder for pregnancy women:
During pregnancy, the effects of eating disorders can be even more dangerous than when a woman is not pregnant. The most common eating disorders found during pregnancy are bulimia and binge eating, though some anorexics do become pregnant. The obsessive fear of gaining weight and restricting in anorexia is most distressing for both mother and baby. (3)

Causes of eating disorder for male:

Men with eating disorders tend to have more passive-aggressive personality styles and have had negative reactions to their bodies from their peers while growing up. Research also indicates that anorexic males tend to have more dependent and avoidant personalities. Males with anorexia do not tend conform to the cultural expectations for masculinity such as: to be competitiveness, muscularity/strength, physical aggressiveness, independence and competence in athletics

Teacher role to support children in classroom:
There are many ways and good methods that teacher and assessment could help children in the classroom:

Design healthy and nutritious diet course as part of your schools curriculum. Preventing eating disorders is easier than treating them. Teaching students to eat healthy and to make wise choices when it comes to diet will be a crucial step to assist students.
Offer healthy and nutritious food in schools. Cafeteria and vending machines in schools should be supplied with healthy choices of food and snacks to encourage a healthy eating habit. Discuss concerns such as these with school administrators and offer students a more healthy choice in school meals and snacks.
Serve as a good role model. Refrain from making comments about physical appearance (whether positive or negative) and correct others that do. Avoid dieting and maintain healthy eating habits and exercise.
Educate yourself. Seek out information regarding eating disorders and watch for potential warning signs, early detection increases the likelihood of recovery.
Supply necessary information regarding eating disorders to students. Inform students of eating disorders and the adverse consequences to their health, physical growth, and mental well-being.
Encourage students to seek help. Form support groups for students with eating disorders. Help students and their families find the right physician and program to assist them in treating their disorders by being familiar with various referral resources.
When choosing groups for activities in the classroom, ensure diversity in each group. Allowing children to pick their own teams can damage self-esteem and make some feel left out.

Black Sea,

I will try to edit your "research" paragraph by paragraph in multiple messages. I am going to submit a rewrite and not go into the grammar issues.

First, in any kind of writing for a purpose, it would be helpful to know what that purpose is and who the audience is. You don't specify either so the resulting edit will be somewhat generic.

Also, I will not address the lists that you provide since they are probably copied from a website.

The first paragraph is:

"In this research I chose to write about eating disorder. First I am going to write the definition of eating disorder, and then I write three common type of eating disorder and followed by explanation and signs and symptoms and the physical/medical Complications for people who had people in eating. Moreover, I write about causes and effects of eating disorder for child learning, pregnancy women, and male."

This is close to what is called an "abstract" that is a short summary of what the research is about.

Rewritten:

The subject of this article is eating disorders. The definition of an eating disorder is given along with signs, symptoms, and physical and medical complications that can occur. The effects of eating disorders on males and pregnant women are discussed. In addition, the effects of the illness on child learning are reviewed.

More later.

I am not sure that you have chosen the most authoritative website/author for your definition. The website article is several years old and the author does not appear to be a native speaker of English. Therefore, his wording is subject to slight modification.

Also, when writing a paper you need to formalize the references that you quote. Simply dumping a URL into the text is typically not considered sufficient. Again, how formal the writing gets is determined by the audience and the "occasion."

You have extracted his words:

"Eating disorder is when a person eats, or refuses to eat, in order to satisfy a psychic needed and not a physical needed. The person doesn't listen to bodily signals or perhaps is not even aware of them. A normal person eats when hungry and stops eating when the body doesn't need more, when he feels the signal of satisfaction."

I would modify this to read:

An eating disorder is defined as when a person eats, or refuses to eat, in order to satisfy a psychological need and not a physical need. The person ignores, or may not even be aware of, the body's signals. A normal person eats when hungry and stops eating when he feels satisfied.

Further comments: Make "disorder" plural. When listing a series, prefix the last item with "and".

Types of eating disorder:

There are three common types of eating disorder, which are bulimia nervosa, anorexia nervosa, binge eating.

Types of eating disorders

The three most common types of eating disorders are bulimia nervosa, anorexia nervosa, and binge eating.

More rewritten....

Note: Do not personalize the discussion by using the word you. Do not use contractions such as theyre in formal writing.

BulimiaNervosa

This disorder is characterized by eating quickly and excessively. This is followed by vomiting, fasting, exercise, or taking laxatives or medicines in order to avoid gaining weight.

People with bulimia eat large amounts of food (often junk food) all at once, usually in secret. Sometimes they eat food that is not cooked or might be still frozen. In extreme cases, they may retrieve food from the trash. They typically feel powerless to stop eating and can only stop once they are too full to eat any more. Most people with bulimia will purge after eating by vomiting, but may also use laxatives or excessive exercise as solutions.

Black Sea:

Take a look at the following definitions and think about your purpose. I would not call the piece "research" since you are not creating or applying new ideas although you are collecting information. Perhaps "essay" comes closest, possibly "theme" and "composition" can be used. Obviously, this is not for publication so "paper" and "research" seem inappropriate.

Essay: an analytic or interpretative literary composition usually dealing with its subject from a limited or personal point of view.

Paper: a formal written composition often designed for publication and often intended to be read aloud

Theme: a written exercise

Composition: An intellectual creation, a piece of writing; especially : a school exercise in the form of a brief essay

Research: : 1) studious inquiry or examination; especially : investigation or experimentation aimed at the discovery and interpretation of facts, revision of accepted theories or laws in the light of new facts, or practical application of such new or revised theories or laws

: 2) the collecting of information about a particular subject

Black Sea

Here is my edit of the same section (before I read yours). The edit you submitted shows that you are "picking up" on some of the concepts I favor. Keep trying!

Original

AnorexiaNervosa You don't eat enough to maintain your normal weight. You are very afraid of becoming fat and have false ideas about your weight and figure.

People with anorexia have a real fear of weight gain and a distorted view of their body size and shape. As a result, they can't maintain a normal body weight. Many teens with anorexia restrict their food intake by dieting, fasting, or excessive exercise. They hardly eat at all and the small amount of food they do eat becomes an obsession.

Revision

Anorexia Nervosa

A person does not eat enough food to maintain their normal weight. There is a fear of becoming fat, this is characterized by false ideas about weight and body image.

People with anorexia have a real fear of weight gain and a distorted view of their body size and shape. As a result, maintaining a normal body weight is not possible. Many teens with anorexia restrict their food intake by dieting, fasting, or excessive exercise. They hardly eat at all and the small amount of food they do eat then turns into an obsession.

How I would edit your input (see parenthetical entries):

"I edit this part (Correct this to say: "I edited this part.")

Anorexia Nervosa: This disorder is described by not eating enough to maintain normal weight. Thats because people (are) afraid of becoming fat and have false ideas about their weight and figure.
People with anorexia have a real fear from (about) gaining weight. Many teens with anorexia restrict their food intake by dieting, fasting, or excessive exercise. They hardly eat at all, and they mainly eats (eat) small amount (amounts) of food which (then) becomes as an obsession."

Final edits:

Original, with edits in parentheses.

Causes of eating disorder for child learning:- (These are not "causes", I would re-phrase to possibly "Effects of Eating Disorders on a Child's Learning Ability")

Eating disorders can profoundly affect a childs ability to learn. Understanding some of the ways an eating disorder can affect cognitive function (functions) may help educators to recognize that a student may be in trouble.

Causes of eating disorder for pregnancy women: (Again, you are not discussing "causes". "Pregnancy women" should be "pregnant women." I would entitle this section "Effects of Eating Disorders on Pregnant Women.").

(3) (Since this appears to be a direct quote, no changes are needed).

Causes of eating disorder for male: (Again, you are not addressing causes here. I would simply re-title this as "Eating Disorders in Males.").

Men with eating disorders tend to have more passive-aggressive personality styles and have had negative reactions to their bodies from their peers while growing up. Research also indicates that anorexic males tend to have more dependent and avoidant personalities. Males with anorexia do not tend conform to the cultural expectations for masculinity such as: to be competitiveness, muscularity/strength, physical aggressiveness, independence and competence in athletics (Again, no changes since this is a direct quote).

Teacher role to support children in classroom (Re-phrase to "Teacher Classroom Support of Children with Eating Disorders".).
:
There are many ways and good methods that teacher and assessment could help children in the classroom:

Black Sea, hope this helps. Take care.
