What does "in charity" mean in the following sentence? Would someone paraphrase it? Thanks a lot.
Beggars are not in a position to turn down even the smallest amount in charity. |

�Charity� is the giving to someone without asking anything in return. �In� is simply a preposition here.
Paraphrase:
Beggars will never say no to even the smallest amount of money freely given to them.
