Hello, dear teachers! I'm translating an article about light-emitting diodes project in China. The author says that the project was slowed because of some problems, which needed solving first. So, this is one of those problems, but it's not exactly clear to me:
"Technical assessment of the products offered by local companies and site applications was often insufficient, leading to a mismatch between the product and its application".
QUESTIONS: 1-what is 'site applications'? is it some opposition to "local companies", something like distant regions?
2- was technical assessment or were the products offered by local companies?
Thank you in advance!

It is saying that the technical assessment of the products made by local companies AND the way they would be used was often insufficient[ (not done thoroughly enough) and the result was that the product was not compatible when installed.
Site application.
In computing a site is short for website.
An application is a program or piece of software designed to fulfill a particular purpose.
outside of computing:
A site = where something is located
Application is the act of putting something into operation, or its practical use, or relevance.
The place where it will be used. |
