Hi,

It just came to my mind if these two sentences meant the same?

1. Get off my bed! 2. Get out of my bed!

Is my understanding correct that 1. is particularly off from the surface of the bed and 2. is 'out of ' a space, like a baby's crib?

Or, they're interchangeable without any nuances?

Thank you very much for your help!

You would say "off my bed" to someone who is sitting on the bed. You would say "out of my bed" to someone who is lying on your bed, perhaps under the blankets as well.

For me, if someone is in the bed, it means under the sheet or blankets. In that case, you would use "Get out of my bed."

If someone is on the bed, either lying on the bed or sitting on the bed, you could say, "Get off my bed."
