Is the followoing sentence grammatically correct? Question

I think it a good idea to start a shoe business.

This is from Highschool textbook and proofread by a native speaker.
So chances of making mistake is really low.
Then I look up the usage in the dictionary but I coudn't find this usage. Question

Oddly enough, I might have let it go as a possibility, and I don't know why, except that "I'd think it a good idea" seems possible in the appropriate context, and we often don't pronounce the 'd. However, normally we would use "I think it's a good idea." and when I tried googling "I think it a good idea" it only appeared as "I think it's a good idea." So I think that would be better.

Perhaps someone else will come along with a real answer Wink

Yes, the sentence is grammatically correct and means the same as "I think it is a good idea to start a shoe business."

Yes, it's grammatically correct, but it sounds stiff and formal and is certainly uncommon in normal conversation. (I'm from Canada.)
