Dear teachers:
I know "classic" and "classical" have the same meaning,
all stand for a traditional style or set of ideas,
but I still have no idea the difference between these two words.
Would you please tell me the difference ? Thanks a lot
best wishes,

Basically, "classical" refers to:
1) ancient Greek / Roman art, literature, languages, etc.
2) a genre of music (think Bach, Beethoven, etc.) - different from jazz, pop, rock, folk.
"classic" is used to describe something that is of high or enduring quality, something that is a standard or inspiration:
the classic three-piece suit
Sherlock Holmes is a classic detective.
