Yes. "overdo" can be used reflexively (as above), and it can be used non-reflexively as well -
(reflexively):
The athlete overdid himself in the qualifiers, and was therefore unable to participate in the finals.
(non-reflexively):
Sure, you can have a Christmas party - just don't overdo it like you did last year.
