It sounds a little better to say "switched around," but "the other way around" is fine, too.
Also, we would say "on the weekend," rather than "at the weekend."
Finally, just to make the sentence a bit clearer, I would say "Today things are..."
So:
In former times people worked during the week and relaxed on the weekend. Today things are (switched around / the other way around).
