Very young children cannot think up what is happening if they do something.
Are there any serious mistakes in my sentence? Please help me spot them. |

I think you mean:
"Very young children cannot imagine what will happen if they do something"
or
"Very young children cannot predict what will happen if they do something"
or
"Very young children cannot work out what will happen if they do something"
Think up is different. It doesn't mean "know in advance". It means something more like "invent".
