Q2: --How amazing it is that astronauts are exploring outer space!
--Its a challenge ____ man against nature.
A. of B. for
I think both answers are correct in this case. Is it correct from a natives point of view?
If not, could you give an example for each preposition?
Many thanks |

In this context, "of" should be correct. "For" wouldn't sound right.
It's a challenge for me to learn English.
It's a challenge for men to know what women are thinking.
It's a challenge for people to stick to a diet.
It's a challenge for man to go into outer space.
It's a challenge of good vs. bad.
It's a challenge of truly gigantic proportions!
Hope this helps. _________________ Visit www.sloweasyenglish.com for material to help you with your listening skills!

Must say, I don't like either "for" or "of" in this sentence.
Why not just "It's a challenge - man against nature!" _________________ All my answers refer to British English.
