The following is my question.

During August, the sun is the hottest it will get all year.

What does "it will get" mean in this sentence? In my humble opinion, if these three words are left out, this sentence will be better understood.

Am I right? Please help me out. Thanks a lot.

It means that the sun is the hottest it will be during the whole year.

Taking out "it will get" would not be the same, nor even yield a good sentence:

"During August, the sun is the hottest all year."

A better sentence to convey the same idea might be, "The sun is hottest in August." Or, "Of all the months of the year, August is the hottest." It is implied that the sun is what makes Earth hot.
