Dear teachers,
Can you tell me which is the correct answer in the following sentence and how to judge whether "when" or "where" should be used after "point" in the attributive clause?

The doctor said that the treatment would continue until the patient reached the point____ he could walk correctly and safely.
A. where B. when

Thank you very much!

Usually you would say "point where" or "time when."

Yes, interesting one.

The phrase is being used to talk about time, but the literal origin of the phrase (reaching a point) is physical rather than temporal, so it has to be where.
