When I entered the store the new laptops jumped into my eyes.

Does this phrase exist or is it totally wrong?

Well, I've never heard it before, but... I like it!

If it doesn't exist, I suggest that you keep using it anyway, and in a few years it might be generally accepted!

Meanwhile, if you need to be correct you could say "caught my attention at once" or something like that.
