Hi!
I have a question.
Question statement:What was the budget director before you like?
Answer:Evidently a stubborn person.
I don't understand the meaning the question. Something is missing from this sentence?
Thanks for your help. |

Consider the simpler sentence: "What was he like?"
This means "What kind of person was he?"
Then if you put "the budget director before you"...
(which means "the person who was the budget director before you became the budget director")
... into the sentence instead of "he"
Then you are asking the same question about them.
Hope that makes it clearer.
Best wishes,
