Hello,
Please read the following sentence:
He walked out of the room, and sang a song.
When it is re-written as:
He walked out of the room, singing a song.
I would like to know whether this part "singing a song" functions as an adverb that modifies the verb "walk"?
Could you please explain this?
Thanks for responding to this question! |

What I can tell you is that the first sentence, with "and sang", suggests that the singing happens after the going out.
And the second sentence with "singing" suggests that they happen at the same time.
I hope that helps,
