Please, I's like to know why i the word whatever is correct in the sentence bellow and what is its relationship with the word may:
Whatever they may say, the rewards are great.

It means it doesn't matter what anyone might say, the rewards are great.
Since you aren't sure what it is that they will say, you can use "may say" showing a possibility.
Does that help or do you need more examples? |
