Hello, teachers!

Is it possible to change "for the last few years" in the following sentence for "these years"?

He has been struggling with the problem for the last few years.

With regards,
foo

thank you

Did you mean, "Is it possible to change "for the last few years" in the following sentence to "these years?"

I don't think it's possible because if you say "these years" we have to know which years you are talking about, and without the "last few years" we don't know.

agree with lorikeet because the previous years are not defined in statement so its better to use last few years in this sentence.

Thanks
