I transcribed the narration spoken in a YouTube video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VwFa0AdQHA

My first, um, three years school I was fine I was all good at school.
Last two years I was just lazy, and just couldn't be bothered to do any work.
So I get home and just, like, have work to do and just not bother doing it.
As go _________ I was a really really lazy student because I was doing that badly. So then me dad kinda had a go at me. He was like "you need to knuckle down".

I don't understand the meaning of and grammatical structure of the part "So then me dad kinda had a go at me." Question

It's a UK/Irish (and maybe Australia/New Zealand?) phrase, "to have a go at _________"
http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/have_a_go

"me ____N_____" is found in the same places.
Pronoun, Definition 7 http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/me
