The following usages are both correct to me.

a professional certifcation
a professional certificate

Then what could be the difference in meaing of both words?

"A health certficate" seems correct but "a health certfication" sounds awkard.

Is the meaning of "a certification" confined to an official statement that proves his or her professional qualifications? On the contrary, can "a certificate" be used not only as a document that officially proves his/her profesional qualifications but also as a certified statement as to the truth of something?

Normally certificate is the piece of paper and certification is the process.

But certification is used more and more these days to mean "the state of having received a certificate"

Does that help?

best wishes,
Ian
