As title, does this sentence "school is in session"has other meaning?
The sentence comes from series<<Friends>>, but I don't know how to translate it may be better.
Could someone tell me,please?
Thank you very much!! |

"School is in session" means 'school has started / is currently happening'.
It can be used any time during the school term to say 'classes are happening now', or at the very beginning to highlight the start of term (maybe school wasn't in session before, but NOW it is).
Alternately, because school is where learning happens, you can use "School is now in session"
or "Class is in session" to mean,
"I'm going to teach you something." (to the listener)
or
"Someone is about to learn something." (when you are watching person A talk to person B)
Hope that's clear! |
