Dear teachers,
What is the diffidence between Syllabus and schedule ?

I set a schedule for studying English this semester .
If I finish it on time ,Can I say that I had finished ahead of schedule?
And,is the sentence “I had finished behind schedule” correct ?
Thank you. Very Happy

Best wishes,
Angela

If you finished the items / goals / tasks on the schedule before the date you planned, you can say 'I finished ahead of schedule.'

If you finish ON the date you planned, you would say 'I finished on schedule.' OR 'I finished according to schedule.'

Yes, but maybe kind of uncommon? It took me a while to think of a situation it could be heard.

"Why was he angry?"
"Because I had finished behind schedule."

Thank you. Very Happy

Best wishes,
Angela

syllabus: A summary of topics which will be covered during an academic course, or a text or lecture. It's like a small-scale curriculum.

schedule: A timetable, or other time-based plan of events; a plan of what is to occur, and at what time.
