Hello!!
I saw one sentence in series << The big bang theory>>.
" I think you are flirting with the line. "
Could someone tell me why they use "flirting with" ?
I think they want to mean challenge someone's line.
And "flirting with" doesn't mean that.

It depends on the context.
From what I can infer, they are probably talking about someone doing something inappropriate, therefore he/she is "flirting with the line." It is the line which you do not cross.
Saying or doing something inappropriate would be "crossing the line."
In this instance, flirting means "getting dangerously close to."
Normally, "flirting" means getting close to another person with the intent and hopes of engaging in a romantic relationship.
