People usually travel around the world.
An astronaut would orbit around the earth.
A scientist would travel throughout the planet to find and study species of plants or animals.
The big blue marble we live on can be considered a world, a planet or earth.
Earth has a more natural meaning, like mother earth.
Planet has a more spatial meaning, like the third planet from the sun.
World has a more geographical meaning, like traveling around the world.
