What does the sentence below mean?
• If anyone wants to become the next David Letterman, they won’t do it by becoming the last David Letterman. _________________ Hiromichi |

It means if anyone is going to replace David Letterman, they won't be successful if they act like him or do the same thing he does. They won't succeed if they have the same type of personality, or the same kind of program. That is because there is nobody like David Letterman. Only he can be as good as David Letterman. The new host can't become David Letterman. He/she have to make their own kind of show.
