I like to know about the expression: because why do that, why do that?

Is this used for indicating duality, in this case etc.,etc.

Every so often you’ll see and etc. But et means “and,” so and etc. would mean “and and so on.” Also to be avoided is etc., etc., because why do that, why do that?

I think the author is making a joke.

He says to avoid using "etc., etc." and continues with "because..."

Normally, a reason for your statement follows the word "because". That is what is expected. However, the author here doesn't present a reason. Instead, he asks, why do that? He is saying it makes no sense. One "etc" is all that is needed and having two adds no meaning. There is simply no reason to ever say "etc., etc." By saying "why do that?", he is indicating that it's a stupid thing to do that makes no sense.

Now, here he says "why do that?" twice. This could be for one of two reasons. One, it could be a joke referring to the double "etc" and he says "why do that?" twice to mimic it.

Or two, it's possible that he is simply repeating it for emphasis, to make his point stronger.

Judging from the fact that he separated them with a comma rather than a question mark, however, my guess is that he is mocking the use of a double "etc".
