Is the sentence below right? I wonder '10 percent as much as the time' should be changed into '10 percent of the time.'
Students studying English in Japan are exposed to the target language for less than 10 percent as much as the time children spend acquiring their mother tongue.

I think it should be "Students studying English in Japan are exposed to the target language for less than 10 percent as much of the time as children spend acquiring their mother tongue." In this case, it shows how much time is spent in the target language compared to how much time is spent acquiring English as a mother tongue. |
