Q: Can fruit sell itself? Doesn't only human sell things?

You ask a good question. I researched it a little. As a native English speaker, I can tell you that "The fruit here sells very well" is good English, but I couldn't exactly explain why. It seemed to be similar to a passive kind of sentence, and I found some references to "mediopassive voice" or "passival" depending on the website. There aren't many verbs that we use this way.
