I tipped the waiter 5 dollars.

Q1: Is it correct to write like the followings?

a. I tipped 5 dollars for the waiter.
b. I gave the waiter five dollars tip.

Q2: How can we write to give waiters money for good service? Please give me some examples and phrases?

Q3: Is the word tip a Dative Verb?

I think you can say:
I tipped the waiter 5 dollars.
I gave the waiter a five-dollar tip.
I gave the waiter five dollars for a tip.
I gave the waiter five dollars as a tip.
I tipped 5 dollars to the waiter. (I don't like this one as much)

I think so.

You could also say, "I left 5 dollars for the waiter" if it was cash on the table.
