It's a good idea if the father is the more patient parent of the two. It's also a good idea when the wife/mom makes more money than the father.
I don't think any child needs his or her mother more than the dad is needed. Dads can do great as full-time caregivers.

You are right. A baby cannot get the best education without mom or dad.
Parents must both take care of childrend. It is the job have to share not a job for only one. |

I think that the idea is somewhat ideal.
For example, in Korea where men have dominated society for a long time, even if a mother earns more money than a father, he may not want to stay home and take care of children as a full time job.
He may think himself as an uselees man in the world.
It is hard for a woman to devote herself to her work thoroughly unless her husband helps.
Knowing about the real situation, it is almost impossible that a man stays home and takes care of children in Korea.
I may be wrong because I am quite an old generation. ^__^ |
