Hershey is a town in Pennsylvania, U.S.A. Pennsylvania was settled by many German immigrants, and naturally they would've brought their chocolate-making skills with them. Very Happy
To my taste, Swiss chocolate is creamy. German chocolate has a little stronger flavor (and is used in the famous "German Chocolate Cake"). Japanese chocolates from the Meiji company are lightly sweet to match the Japanese taste that doesn't like strongly sweet candies and pastries.
Oh, and a little plug for one of my favorite mom-n-pop chocolate shops, when I want to send a gift (for a birthday or such) and cannot attend in person, I will order a pound or two of fudge from Two Dumb Dames Fudge Factory out of Arkansas.

Belgian people are extremely proud of their chocolate Cool because it's often considered as the best chocolate in the world. If you go to Brussels, you'll see loads of shops that sell chocolate. I don't recommend to buy chocolate there, it's much too expensive. Chocolates sold in supermarkets are also excellent. You've got so many different types of chocolates. It's really hard to make a choice Razz
