Hi, everybody!It is really so.  What should i do?  I have been learning english for 5(!!!  ) years, but still it is not good, especially grammar.Whay advises can you give me?     |

As a fellow ESL person, I understand how you feel.
My advice is to keep working hard. Victory comes after sacrifices (from "Lord of the Rings"). Keep reading books that interest you AND practice writing. Write about what you have read, what happened in a day, what you saw, did. Write about your frustration. Write about your success, however small it may be. Write about the joy of learning English. And be bold. Don't be shy about speaking with native speakers. Most Americans are willing to communicate with you even as you struggle.
Keep posting back and hang in there.

Borrow language CDs from your local public library and listen to them everywhere you go:
* The public transit
* Walking
* Driving
* Flying
Eventually it becomes second nature and you can move on to more difficult stuff. Check out tapes/CDs like this: http://www.languagequest.com/home/product.php?prodCode=IIEAC&lang=English
Now, everywhere you go, just LISTEN and REPEAT. Do it for 15 to 20 days and it becomes second nature. Then you can go on to harder stuff.

As an fluent english and french speaker, and learner of spanish and italian, the best way to master a language is to use it. Every teacher that I have had has said those words, and I can definitely back them up on it. Being in this chat forum will help you, especially if you are reading things said by native english speakers. The more you read, the more you will pick up on grammar, verbs, how things are said... Without even trying!
Another piece of advice would be to get a native english penpal. I would be glad to correspond with you if you are interested, I love to help people improve their english (I plan on being a TESOL teacher.)
