Hi all

Im studyind to be a teacher. Grammar is one of the most difficult subject.
Also Phonetics is a very tuff subject. Especially because the teachers guide you to speak as a British (near RP). The sounds are so strage Confused Confused Confused
What can I do to improve in these topics.

Hi. My name is Heather. I am Canadian, living in Windsor,Ontario. If you are interested in improving your English you should try a homestay experience. I have had many people, who are learning English, live with us and they have improved greatly!!! The more time you are immersed the easier the language will become including the grammar. Good Luck. If you're ever interested in living in Canada send me an email. Bye for now. Heather

If you just plan on speaking English casually, I wouldn't emphasis grammar that much because it is almost never used properly, anyway. I would watch movies (real movies, with real actors) in English. Go on websites and read in English. If you get a chance to talk with some native speakers or travel to an English-speaking country, make sure you talk loudly- it is much easier to understand when it is loud.

Good luck and don't get discouraged.

Hi,

My name is Katherine. I have been teaching ESL for over 5 years now. Living in a Canadian ESL Teacher's home and studying with the same teacher is a great advantage.

Last year I provided homestay and tutoring for students from Korea and Spain. Those students improved a great deal, but it was a lot of hard work. The Korean students were registered in highschools in Whitby, Ontario, Canada. They were doing better than most native English speakers. I was impressed with their tenacious efforts.

This July I will be teaching a group of students from Spain, but they will be living with other Canadian families.

I'd love to offer you a chance to live and study in my home starting in
August 2005. If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact me at [email protected].

Take care,

Katherine Sanchez

I can understand how you feel that learning English was so frustration,I still have the time feel like I can't learn it well, even now, my English have improve a little. but the disappointment still have.
I learn English over 10 years, but my English still poor, not good enough.in my opinion, as long as you keep to learn it,maybe just study English 10 minutes one day,but it still work.
learning English have no short cut,all you have to do is just keep it up and don' t give up. use every method you wanna to improve your English, and catch every chance what you can learn.if you give in,you fail it.so The method only one rule."never .never give up,and never think learn it too late, even you will die tomorrow".

formular is simple

to improve speaking= listen what people are saying
