Hello! I was wondering abou the difference between Eggplant and Aubergine. Is it always the same vegetable but with different caratheristics?

I believe Aubergine is the French for eggplant. Either word is used in English and will buy you the same vegetable at the store. Probably, the store that calls it Aubergine will charge you more for it.

Eggplant is the word used in the US. Here in the UK we use the word aubergine (the French word), but it is the same plant. Similarly we say courgette in the UK, but in the US they say zucchini. We say biscuit, but in the US they say cookie. They are quite a lot of differences between British English and American English, although we can understand each other most of the time!
