Preface is pronounced very strangely. Smile

Pre - Is pronounced with a short "e" sound as in the word "egg".

face - Is pronounced with the "a" as a short "i" sound and the "ce" pronounced with a soft "s" sound. So it is pronounced similar to the word "kiss".

I hope that was clear for you. Smile

No offense intended to the previous replier, but I for one had trouble understanding the explanation, so I thought I'd chip in my two cents.

Preface is prenounced like "PREF-iss", with emphasis on the first syllable.
