Hello Muni,
Perhaps, you could rent some English videos to watch or listen to English songs. Also, to correct your sentences above, I rewrote your message. It can be written in this way:
Dear all,
I really want to learn English, but no one in my family can speak English. I can't watch English movies, but I have access to the Internet. I need guidance. This language problem is effecting my progress in college. Are there any short cuts? Can someone chat with me and correct me? I would appreciate any suggestions, and I will be grateful for your help.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Always capitalize "I" and the beginning of your sentence. End your sentence with a period instead of a comma unless you are asking a question. I hope that helps.
Regards,
Diana |

thank you Diana for your help.I would try to watch english movies.I have few questions I hope you would answer.
if I see my friend 2-3 days then I can I say that "where u have been"is this the same as" where u were"
can I say that"who you are chatting with?" or I should say
"whome yoy are chatting with" and would it be correct to say to a teacher
that "can I ask you a question " and what does it stand for" or should i say that" WHO stands for what"
I hope u will correct me |

"Where have you been?" is a question that you would ask your friend. You wouldn't say "Where you were" You could say to someone else "My friend was at __, ___, and ____ today." You could say "The person who you are chatting with is my friend." If you say to a teacher "Can I ask you a question?" You are asking them if you can ask them something. |

Where have you been?
Where were you?
Both are good for the situation you described.
Good luck,

Hello, muni and other participants ! I'm writing this from Japan.
This is my first visit and writing to The Forums. Learning another language is very difficult but challening at the same time. That's the big reason I try to study English.
If you want to improve your English, how about taking TOEIC or TOEFL ?
Taking Exams might make you nervous but it can push youself to hard working. Anyway, as far as you have a steadfast motivation to study English, you can succeed, I think.
Thank you. |

Dear All,
I am a new member. I decided to improve my English since 3 years ago due to business necessary. I know I have some problems in English, but the two biggest problems for me to get better and better in English are my shyness and speaking. I have tried to solve my problems, so I attended some English classes to share my experience with classmates and also learned the speaking skill with the foreing teachers. However, it didn't work for me. While I have to face a lot of people to speak English, I feel my heart rate increasingly and my speaking speed is astonishing quickly. I really want to solve my problems thoroughly. Who can help me and provide me with your experice. Thanks for your help.
Regards,
Pamela Li from Taiwan

It's difficult for everyone to learn a new language, I'm learning Spanish, and it takes lots of time and practice to get things correct. If you are worried about making too many mistakes, then listen to children learning their first language, listen to other language students learning English and listen especially to foreigners trying to speak your language. Lots and lots of mistakes! But amazingly people still seem to understand despite the mistakes.

Hello, Pamela!
You seem to work hard on both your job and English.
In Japan, people are atraggling to master English because they are compelled to do so by their companies.
Today, Bussiness has come to be the worldwide thing.
Thanks to the development of technology, we can contact people in the world with using English.
Please don't forget you can use English well enough to write your message in this site all your own. Be confident !
That's the best way to improve yourself, I think !
Let's take the challenge of learning English together !
Let's look st the bright side of the things !
See you soon ! |
