Please can someone tell me if there are 4/5 nouns in this sentence:
"The director of the film Titanic is James Cameron"
In other words is James Cameron treated as 1 or 2 nouns????

Thanks Confused

I think there are 4. They are: director, film, James, Cameron. I believe "Titanic", (normally a proper noun) is used here as an adjective modifying "film".

Now I'm confused I think Tara that you may be right and James Cameron is 1, but Obelix is treating it as 2 and saying that "Titanic" isn't a proper noun, I'm inclined to think that this is wrong. Ok they both leave me with the same answer and that is 4 but I have to list the nouns?????

Please help anyone!!!!

Comrades: it goes like this...
Director = noun.
film = noun
Titanic "= proper noun in apposition to "film"
James Cameron = proper noun.

Total nouns = 4.
You heard it here last.
