Can you please explain the meaning of this expression? Can we translate it in Italian with "Scendi dal pero"? Thanks.

Hi Teresa,

It is said to a person who is not being realistic about a particular situation. For example, when a person is acting as if everything is fine, yet everyone knows that his or her lover is ready to end the relationship. Or when a person has a lot of debt, yet still spends a lot of money as if they had no debt.
