What is the meaning of
This won't cut it in today's competitive, "get-it-done-yesterday" work world.
Thanks |

Hi Missdaredevil,
won't cut it - won't be good enough
get-it-done-yesterday - an expression to convey that the speed of completing something is crucial |

Does "get-it-done-yeserday" mean "assignments that are already done" and therefore is an expression to convey that the speed of completing something is crucial.
Thanks |

No, it is used when something needs to be completed very quickly. Your boss might give you a project to do, and then say, "And I want it on my desk (I want it finished) yesterday!" Of course, that is impossible. But she/he is telling you that you will have to find a way to finish it very quickly - faster than it seems possible. No excuses will be accepted! |
