Hello, ESL friends!!

I'd like to know your opinions about the titlle of this topic. What do you think about having a Cosmetic Surgery? Do you think it's necesary even if you look good and accept yourself? Why do you think people do it? Most women or most men?

I'll be waiting for your answers! Wink

If you want to have a medical procedure that is legal, and the doctor agrees to do it, and you have the money, what's the problem?
If you look good and accept yourself, you most likely won't bother.

If you look good, or even if you don't look good but are comfortable with the way you look, why have surgery? Cosmetic surgery is never "necessary" unless you were in some horrible disfiguring accident that tore off your face.

Vanity, and it is usually women (though more and more men are having it, most is still for women).

As cosmetic surgery contains all forms of medical influence on the human body, people should also call medicines for muscle-growing a cosmetic surgery. So I think there are also a lot of men who do this.

They all want to look better than their natural look. Some American guys did a voting and they found out that good looking people earn more money in average than bad looking people.
If a boy has a choice between a good looking girl without that much education and a bad looking girl with education they still chose the first one, a girl will more take attention at muscular, tall boys than thin and small boys.

I think it's very dangerous to do this, the medicine will cause you a good look for some years but then it will go in the opposite direction, look at Michael Jackson.
And also that muscle gaining is not very good. If you inject that medicine it will only make you having more flesh on your arms, but the flesh won't be of any use. I tried gym club once, maybe I gained more power, I was happy and thought I would have more chances in kickboxing. But the trainer told me: "Your muscles are like pudding..." and he called it "dead flesh"...

here in China, cosmetic surgery is getting hotter and hotter. however, many "Doctors" of cosmetic surgery ain't qualified, some of them even didn't pass the government examinations!! they just wanna make money, of course, in an illegal way.

Therefore, be careful! if you wanna look better by any cosmetic surgery, you have to make sure your doctor is really qualified. otherwise, you will regret for your deformity.

So many people are beautiful naturally. But still they want to look like a Supermodel.

Too bad - becaus simple confidence, a smile, and average good looks can be as attractive as any supermodel (except maybe Heidi Klum - haha!).

If people want to and can affford to go under the knife, then they should.
They would be contributing to the R & D in a fairly newer area of surgery!

Not exactly. Surgery specifically refers to cutting and slicing tissue. Steroids for muscle growth are part of cosmetic alterations which includes cosmetic sugery. I have had cosmetic dentistry in the past. It is very common.

As long as they understand that there are risks when under anesthesia including death. Would you be willing to risk a 0.01-0.02% chance of death to have bigger boobs or smaller thighs?

yeah Bob thanks for correcting.

RedRose do you know 范冰冰? (She is the official best looking woman in CHina, well I don't think she looks thaaaat good) She also had many cosmetic surgeries. I think it's stupid to go under knife just for a good reputation.

范冰冰 is very stupid, yeah, maybe she is pretty, but in my opinion, a brainless beauty isn't that attractive at all. I guess it's because I am a female. if I were a guy, I might like 范冰冰's appearance.

and Turtle, your boobs are big enough? then you can save some money. I mean, you don't have to get any procedure Laughing My boobs ain't big enough, but I accept them, so I don't have to have any cosmetic surgery either. Turtle, since we don't have any procedure on our boobs, we can save a lot of money by which we can take a trip. what do you think? Mr. Green

Poor 范冰冰 looks very unnatural. Her eyes are already uneven from surgery. She doesn't even look Chinese - more like a freakish half non-specific Asian and half Space Alien. She is going to grow old terribly - the scarring and imbalance of features from cosmetic surgery becomes visible with time.

Here's an example (Bree Walker young and not so young):

Hey RedRose. Where do you want to go?

Real. No tricks. I saw her live on television the other day and it was really quite frightening.

Go here to see all kinds of evidence why cosmetic surgery is scary:

That's precisely why I said they are contributing to research. Now it's up to the scientists to see how they can improve upon their procedures.

And Bob, Indians have their own traditional beauty secrets: Ayurveda, aroma oils, health spa, herbal treatments, yoga, meditation etc. Indians generally have a holistic approach to health and fitness.

As for the risk factor in plastic surgery, no surgical procedure is 100% risk free, including appendicectomy.
