Should it be junkyard? A junkyard is a lot (piece of land) where large discarded items are stored. Often the items are old cars. It is also called a scrapyard. If you own a very old car that needs a part, you might go to a junkyard to see if you can find the part there. If so, it would be much cheaper than buying a brand new part.
Junky yard has no special common meaning. Junky is slang for not very good. Yard most commonly means lawn. So junky yard would mean something like a lawn that was not mown. |

A place where broken things (junk) are stored because they may have parts that can be salvaged, recycled, or repaired and used again.
