I'm not quite sure what you are looking for.
If you use rush twice in a sentence it will sound awkward.
So,
In a rush of excitement I ran to the post office to try to get there before it closed, OR, shut (down)... If you say, I tried to rush you imply that something is preventing you from doing so. You don't need in time if you're saying, before it closed. |
