Dear teachers:

Still lyrics questions.

let's dance in style, lets dance for a while (in style?)

...are you going to drop the bomb or not? (drop the bomb?)

...we don't have the power but we never say never (never say never?)

Thanks.

That's a hard one to explain, but I guess it means let's do it right or let's do it in the best way that it can be done. For example, "Let's dance to great music, in a fantastic place, dancing the latest dances, wearing great clothes, etc."

In its most literal sense, it means dropping a nuclear bomb. As a metaphor, it means to say or ask something very important or very shocking, such as telling your unsuspecting spouse that you want a divorce. In the sense of this song, it might mean asking for the first time ever if "you" will come home with me tonight.

It's an expression that warns not to speak in absolutes. Literally, don't ever say "never" (nor "always"). For example, "Don't ever say, "I will never leave you.'" "Never" often arrives... The song is saying that they don't ever speak to each other in absolutes.
