Hi I am Shogonator from Japan. Very Happy Ive watched the film and I also think it is an excellent movie. It made me think seriously about the problems of discrimination by color of skin and rapes. Crying or Very sad Actually I watched it in my high school days. In class we discussed if Carl Lee is guilty. In my opinion, he is guilty, because he was not insane when he shot 2 white men and a police. Whatever the reason is, it is just a murder. Of course I sympathize with him. But if I was in same situation as him, Ill act just like Carl. Now, tell me your opinion please?

Embarassed i am sorry that i post this reply so late, as actually i received your comments on the film last week. i have so much work to finish in may that i spent very little time logging onto the website.
after reading your comments, i have got your points. actually when i watched the film, i thought that was really a complicated case , especially when it was set in the mixed problem of conflict between whites and blacks.
i think carl lee was guilty. on this point, i agree with you. though his daughter was raped by two white evils and badly injured by them he should not conduct his revenge in that way. when he took gun shooting the two evils, meanwhile, he shot his friend.
however, though i think he was guilty, that doesnot mean i don't understand his action. being a father, he had the responsibility to protect his children.
the two evils deserved the shooting. after all they should pay for what they had done to the girl, who was totally innocence and naive.
carl lee should also pay for what he had done. Wink i think if he was sentenced to prison, it did not matter so much, coz he had fullfil his revenge.
do you agree with me??? Embarassed Razz
