I watched "Murder in Sicily" last night. In this film, Maggie Smith talks about her former friend who was on the stage with her. She praises her and says she could always throw her legs higher than any of the other girls. Then she adds, "And wider."
Why should she throw her legs higher?
Why should she throw her legs wider?
What does this mean? |

Dancers, as a group, can probably kick their legs higher performing on stage, than most of us. SO she is saying that this friend could kick her legs higher than most of the dancers, and the other remark, "and wider" is an insinuation that she was sexually very active. |
